The Masters Historic Festival at Brands Hatch 26-27 May saw the infamous Fourways Modsport 240Z win in class and a superb second place overall. Qualified 2nd only 2 hundredths of a second off pole! Beat a gaggle of ex works TWR XJS's, ex works TWR Rover Vitesse's, two Porsche RSR's and a massively quick Zakspeed Escort RS1800 all of which are professionally prepared and raced on a regular basis. There were at least half a dozen professional drivers racing. 26 cars on the grid made a wonderful sight and wonderful noise and the "Beast" took the lead on the first lap diving down the inside along Copper Straight, never overtaken on track (it was the pit stop that beat us) and ran like a train. Geoff Jackson at Fourways has built a bloody fantastic race car.
It is wonderful to see a full race spec 240Z upsetting all the marque manufacturers just as it did in the 70's.
